Parmit Chilana is an Assistant Professor at the School of Computing Science at Simon Fraser University specializing in human-computer interaction (HCI). She received her Ph.D. in Information Science from the University of Washington in 2013, and worked as an Assistant Professor in Management Sciences at the University of Waterloo from 2013-2016. 

Her research group focuses on designing social, usable and interactive technologies by drawing upon a variety of research methods and techniques - from designing and building interactive systems to using qualitative and quantitative methods to investigate user needs, organizational processes and tool adoption.
