Welcome Hui to the lab

Hui Wang, a second-year Ph.D. student from Dalian University of Tech., China, is visiting the GrUVi lab starting from September for a year. Hui has worked on several problems on geometry processing prior to coming to GrUVi, including Laplacian surface editing and empirical mode decomposition (EMD) for meshes. He will be supervised by Dr. Zhang. Welcome, Hui!

Five GrUVi-ers attend Banff Workshop

Five GrUVi members, Ahmed, Oliver, Andrea, Torsten, and Richard, attended the Banff Workshop: Geometry for Anatomy. The focus of this workshop is the study of mathematical and computational geometric representations, processing, analysis, and visualization techniques of internal anatomical structures. The workshop is co-organized by SFU CS faculty Ghassan Hamarneh and Richard Zhang, as well as Steve Pizer from UNC.
